“Can we just enjoy a piece of entertainment without having to take some kind of moral or political stance?”
Peer pressure, plain and simple. It’s getting more and more out of fashion (or maybe it was never in fashion) to form your opinion based on your own perception and not based on what someone else is saying.
I will be getting it. Haven’t seen any videos or gameplay since E3 2018 (or was it 19?) though. Going in blind without expectations apart that it’s CDPR which means gameplay could be janky, but the world crafted with attention to detail. I will see
It’s a blockbuster game. Mainstream things always play to the lowest common denominator. I think you should have more luck with indies.
Yup. Being hyped that much just sets oneself up for disappointment.
I as a reader am more interested in an author’s opinion on a videogame, not in an author’s opinion about the world and current state of the videogame industry in an article about ONE videogame.

So basically “Assassin’s Creed, but not Assassin’s Creed.”
Hmmm... you might be on to something there
What’s the difference between SOTN and this? Both have famously bad voice acting and though I still constantly quote both of them: I’d play Symphony in a heartbeat whilst I rather bathe in raw sewage before even loading up the CDI games
Seems to be by the same guy who did the FF6 Android and Chrono Trigger PC fonts *shudders*
As someone who became a fan with Xenoblade Chronicles (my fav game of all time) having played all titles released since: Is it worth checking out Xenogears and Xenosaga? Even Baten Kaitos? Knowing only the “good” Monolith Soft how should I temper my expectations? I just want to see the raw creative drive that has…
