Talbots Toys in San Mateo, Ca used to have back room with a huge slot tracks, ran tourneys and heats...they ran different size tracks next to each other for some of the bigger older (1/48 scale?)slots...but the room was pretty big at least 50x70...lot of fun on a Sunday afternoon after church...woo woo...I'm lying

@Murilee Martin: I grew up in San Mateo and Bay Farm and Foster City are almost alike...built on landfill, sinking and the same style of houses...Driving through Bay Farm is like driving through Foster City...I always thought it must have been the same developer...

another note about the pic...the piece of land south of Alameda is Bayfarm island...built on a garbage landfill, sinking at 1-2 inches a year...you can catch the end of the Oakland Airport runway at the bottom left...
