Ahhh, the "I just wanted to open a discussion" defense.

A blog just means that the site consists of articles in reverse order. It doesn't mean they have to be unprofessional when they report on news.

All games are about rewards and punishment. It's the ways games are designed. It's the duality that keeps challenges balanced. What's the punishment for not sneaking cautiously through a Metal Gear game? You get caught and have to restart. In a Mario game you will fall off the edge if you try and rush through the

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said that it doesn't matter much these days. It's just a little extra silicon to translate the instructions. This drawback is lessened the more high-power and high-performance the chip is.

Now that's sexist prejudice if ever I saw it. If you'd ever been on a STEM course you'd have found out that 90% of people are incredibly friendly and accommodating.

LOL, seriously? When I said the successful PC RPGs are simple I was thinking specifically of Diablo. Diablo II is a casual hack and slash game with stats, skill distribution and rare equipment. It's not especially complex as a video game, let alone an RPG. Pokémon is 10x as complex. I know this will irk every Diablo

Kids club? How ageist!

Pro-tip for calling out on discrimination: Focus on what someone did rather than what they are.

I guess Fire Emblem has gained a large following by now, but it was a similar situation when the first GBA game was released in the west. They expected modest sales for a relatively niche game and were surprised by the success it had, probably cause the Internet had been raving about the games for years before.

It breaks the original game design if you can sacrifice characters without penalty. You may end up playing longer (like hard mode in any game) but they wouldn't have done 10 Fire Emblem games where you had no choice if they didn't think it was important to the game design.

I live in Europe you insensitive clod.

Because they're not applying.

Don't worry, it's nothing compared to me buying them originally as a kid. One release, two seperate full-price Zelda titles with totally unique content? They sure knew how to squeeze money from kids.

On the GBA they had a totally awesome bonus shop.

The only footage in that trailer that actually was from a real game didn't look too impressive. The rest was just CGI cutscenes, we have no way of confirming that they're "real".

Consoles you can hold in your hand won't matter much anymore. In future we will download our consoles from the Internetz.

Can't disagree with that.

You work on Windows yet have no idea that even 32-bit x86 supports more than 3GB of RAM through PAE? Linux has been doing it for years.

This is just a rehash of arguments from yesteryear. Optimized console games were better when RISC CPUs had a noticeable cost/performance advantage. Standardized hardware was an advantage when GPUs had a whole load of incompatible proprietary APIs. And a background OS was a problem back in the 90s when running a 2D
