I missed that arc, so to me the whole “Hell” was just telepathic projection and the Halloween outfit seemed odd but not a deal breaker.

I think the bizarre activist take over pushed Disney over the edge to settling. And that might have been part of the plan since takeover kids are whining why they got to have girls and POC in their comic book movies. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/nelson-peltz-disney-woke-black-panther-marvels…
I’ve never read fanfic nor feel a need too but I am thrilled to hear how it’s grown from something the traditional genre publishing industry has ironically looked down on to become a legit path to publishing as well as a fun playground where writers can learn the craft.
I’m giving them props for exploring a different era that’s not (as of the moment) connected to original movies.
I started the Three Problem on Prime, which is the Chinese version. It’s 30 episodes but it is slow though. I’m wondering how much I would be missing if I switched as the Netflix version is only 8 episodes.
Surprised at the irony that the horses are more expensive than the hobbits. I get it, evidently, no one bought the horses back in the day and a ton of them are in a landfill somewhere.
Tron: Uprising is underappreciated. It’s not a masterwork, but it was entertaining.
Can we just avoid yet another origin story for a character that is practically an American myth at this point? At the very least, I feel like the formula now is to pad screen time or slow the pacing for a breather by squeezing in the origin as a flashback. Let’s just skip all of it and get to the story.
As a Halloween one-shot for my ttRPG group, I did a “What if Clue had won and now the programs were invading earth” set up. None of my players pieced it what or who was invading.
Solid show. My biggest quibble is when you could tell when they were shooting in forests near Vancouver and hired only 5 stunt men to represent a whole squad chasing the heroes, you could tell. Some of the effects could have been better, but overall I binged the whole thing before I knew it.
Just to clarify, was the cloth figures moving across the streets this movie?
I save you time in that Rise of the Planet of the Apes sequel, we learn that apes can be jerks too. The third move War, though, will totally bum you out if you are fixated only the human side of the equation.
I enjoyed the book, and the movie, and I’ll probably enjoy the movie. And none of them will be anything like each other.
As a kid of the 80s, the jocks vs bookworms was in full swing in my high school to the point I was surprised later in life that nerdy people loved sports too.
My apologies, it was less throwing shade and more being cynical about how hard it to simply make a living as a creative. The concept that you have to incorporate yourself and become a business just to sell art on a sustainable level is a sad state of affairs.
Sadly, this seems to be final form of getting rich as a creative. Create a team, make good art that sells, sell out and wrap up your current projects as you get laid off, take long vacation on your severance as you bank the proceeds of the sale. Make a new company with the same team so your fans know you’re back…
The frustrating part for me is the people who just say, “That’s how it is, why bother to get worked up about genre films getting ignored at awards time.” You should be bothered and you should not just “accept” it.
It’s my turn for the slideshow complaint. I’d bear with them better if I didn’t have to scroll up and down to see both the picture and the captions underneath, mostly do the pop up add from the top. In order to see both and not have the ad force me to scroll, I have to zo0m out so far the captions shrink to being fine…
Indeed, if these two shows came back and stayed good or even got better, I would be a happy sci-fi camper.
I hear you and agree ... but also the original Star Wars trilogy where you have princess senators and rebellions among different planets and species were able to unite. Some of those plot holes got filled in much later in different shows and books. And depending on the fan, those answers do/don’t make much sense.
