As of 1:41 EST 1/26/18, I’ve had trouble getting on to io9.gizmodo.com and io9.com.
So just finished this stunner of a book, which is basically a Wild West tale through the lens of gritty Fantasy. No steampunk and no guns, just leveled crossbows along with swords at high noon.
Cage match of ideas! Fight! I think we all know that DC/Warner has missteped, but my theory is that they’ve pretty much done the “missed the trees for the forest” thing here.
So evidently it’s not robot revolution that I fear, but their worship of me as an internet god.
I’m trying to remember the title and by-line of an old Analog story.
SG-1 was a show that I never watched until it was repeating on a daily basis with the then Properly-Spelled-SciFi-Channel. If you just double-checked the title of this article, hang with me here. Besides I needed more space before we hit spoiler alert territory.
It’s GMs Day, give your GM a hug ... unless they’re not the touchy feely type.
I think I’m getting old, no really. ‘Cause when I’m looking for “TV Recap,” that’s what I’m expecting. I assumed Megathreads and Reaction Threads were more like spoilery places to go to get all Spoilers McSpoilerson.
So evidently some people watch this clip and think that Ra is piloting a space ship. (It might be chairot-ish/boat-ish thing, maybe?)
I’m getting into the Magicians quite a bit, especially for a certain undertone that I’m trying to articulate — but not having much luck with. Help an O-Decker out?
I could be wrong, but did this article show up on io9 last month?
I’m probably projecting, so let me own up to that right off the bat.
TL:DR/No spoilers opener. I had high hopes for this series and while I may have not agreed with everything they did with the adaption to TV, none of it was a deal breaker.
So here is where the Expanse walks the true tightrope.
Not really. But as usual, the Expanse’s little details and throw away bits are fascinating in their own right.
... because at least once a year I run across an article or comments and I have to talk about that “cool fantasy book with psionics instead of magic.”
Well, there’s one mystery of the series solved.
Remember those old school Dungeons and Dragon games where every old king on a throne and every grey beard bartender just happened to be retired adventures who could just literally stand there while the entire party whaled on him to no avail?
