This layout is so inefficient. Not even 24 hours after this post was posted, I had to scroll through five fucking pages to find it. Also, I always logged in to Disqus through facebook. I also had a still-greyed kinja account. When I follow the instructions above, it just loops me back into my kinja account. I want

Yep. There will, of course, still be comments and content, but it is going to take a major hit. This layout is horrid. There is no way that this comment system will work with a show like Game Of Thrones, where 1200 comments is the minimum expected within 24 hours.

Yeah I don’t think anyone’s comment history s here yet. I’m hoping those appear in the next few days.

Google? I can’t remember the last time the onsite search function returned anything useful.

even more useless than I realized

And oh joy, clicking through ‘Load More Comments’ for another 500 times to get where I was.

Agreed on both counts, and one of my own to add:

Well, nobody is ever going to see this because it’s a new comment so it’s going to become buried under 500 “Load more comments” clicks since Kinja is the worst commenting system on the Internet, but RIP The AV Club.

manually refresh button at the top

Top left corner of the page has a magnifying glass. Expect it to not work very well.

OH MY GOD HTML TAGS DON’T WORK?!?!!?

I guess I am logged in. I’m wondering where the search function is. How do we access older content?

Is anyone else experiencing a bug where you try to star someone’s comment, but instead it just takes you right to the top of the page without even starring the comment?

Part of the problem is that people often freak out over major design changes even when they’re *not* terrible. Designers and tech teams tend to learn this lesson a bit too well, and become immune to negative feedback in the cases where the change really does suck.

It’s going to be fun seeing how pissed off everyone is about how shitty Kinja is. Disqus wasn’t perfect, but it worked. I get why the change is being made, but Kinja SUCKS. I hated it when Gawker implemented it and hate it now, much like most everyone else on here. AV Club is probably about to see a drop in traffic

Is there a setting where I can load more than, like, five comments at a time? It’s pretty annoying to be constantly hitting the more comments button.

Feedback on the front-page:

This is not in any way an improvement... I mean... I know y’all have to say that. You have jobs you’d like to keep.

This is awful. If a user can create a plugin to nest comments why can’t Kinja tech engineers implement such a feature natively for The AV Club?

Hey guys! I really don’t like the change. I know it’s new but I pretty much loathe the site’s design now. Does anyone have any recommendations (other than the avocado) for sites like old AV Club? Love to see some of you there.
