Man, I fuckin’ love Charlie Brooker. Really have missed his voice and goofy presence in all the Wipe shows, tho. Can’t blame him for running with Black Mirror as it’s been an astonishing opportunity, but boy I miss that snark that’s been a part of my life since back when he wrote about video games.
Yes, the reductive “Black Mirror says technology is bad!” argument ignores the fact that almost all of the episodes are not about how technology is bad, that rather it shines a (wait for it) mirror on ourselves and our deepest human impulses and flaws, and in many cases allows or even encourages us to be bad.

I’m really into seeing The Green Knight and The Woman Who Ran. Kim Min-hee is pretty interesting to watch, and I think Hong Sang-soo puts some fascinating stuff onscreen. The handful of his that I’ve seen haven’t all been fully successful, but they’re always really interesting, especially Right Now, Wrong Then.
