For years, my circle of friends has joked about every car game “finally being a worthy successor to Hot Wheels Turbo Racing”, but when this trailer surfaced, all jokes stopped. We’re legit hyped.

Ditto, came to this article expecting there to be a “the item is acquired by beating the boss of the second biome” and then reading it’s in the 5th biome...which is like finding out you “just” have to graduate college to get the thing you need to open an elementary school supply closet.

I cracked and bought it after ranting in comments that I wouldn’t. It’s very pretty, with some nice polish, and with great haptics. It’s also got a save issue and bugs (apparently, I haven’t hit one yet), which makes me feel like the $70 is a little steep.

Many games allow you to get a free PS5 upgrade. So you can keep playing the game you love only it’s now much much better.

Scalpers exist for sure but it seems like a pretty small % to be honest. You hear about these bigger groups scoring a couple thousand PS5, which sound like alot, but then you see Sony has sold almost 8 million. The vast majority are probably going to people who actually want them to play.

They’ve taken matters into their own hands and are off mining their own rare earth minerals?

Counterpoint:

Oh no! A game made by a multibillion dollar corporation based around the highest grossing entertainment franchise of all time is just NOW being influenced by capitalism!!!

ehhhhh.........

Well, a low-ish user base. It is the fastest selling console ever so there are millions of them out there, and these users are probably hungry for new games.

If you’re not sick of the constant whining in the comment section of every Playstation related article, then that’s nice for you, but I can’t see it anymore.

It totally blows my mind that people are literally saying “it’s a new IP so no from me”...

And you’re the reason why there’s all these prequels, sequels and reboots.

How about you write this „I can‘t get a PS5“ into your diary and spare us with the usual rant?

I don’t know, I imagine there’s decent overlap in the venn diagram of “People who bought the PS5 in the first few months” and “Willing to pay full price for a game”

There’re rumors that they’re doing a PC remake of Colors. I’d check that one out if they do release it, as that one is pretty good as well as Volante’s suggestions.

Real Steel holds up though. It’s like an amalgamation of every 80s underdog story (mainly Stallone’s “Over the Top") + robots. It’s a pretty great movie to turn your brain off to.

came to say the same thing...

Isn’t this like beat for beat the idea behind Real Steel or one of those movies they did a while back?

Since it’s so close to release now, I’ll just remind everyone: the number in the Nier Replicant subtitle is actually the square root of 1.5.
