The Eric flashback seemed like really obvious filler, because it was so long. Just tell everyone that Japanese Yakuza vampires are a thing. It's not like TB hasn't had stuff show up before, without explanation.

Also, did we miss the part where the Yakuza vampires were welcomed into the house of the Yogi? Or do Japanese vampires not need an invitation? The writers make up rules as they go along. The Eric backstory with the French chick was completely unecessary.
