Frustrating to see a woman put herself in that place. Where are her friends? Sisters, Mom? Why didn’t they tell her, no this is not your problem, let Brett take care of this on his own.

Apparently nobody really listened to all the #metoo stories, because women (and men too) already explained over and over and over and over again why they didn’t report it.
To be fair, that’s not what he said. He said that’s how he felt about it while writing them because he had no other way to conceptualize their relationship. He’s going to have to put his spin on them- it’s his job, he’s writing for these characters. How he conceptualizes them in his head is not the same as applying…
BECAUSE THAT’S HOW YOU GET ANTS.
She’s just a bad actress. Can’t blame her, she was pulled into it when she was too young to know if she had the ability or not, but she just can’t act.
I haven’t watched in years but all my money is on Pepper (if he’s still on the show).
Totally. It’s infuriating to think about after all this time because it was such a great cast outside of her and they could have gone 3-4 seasons AND then put an actual production out there (like was planned)...that could still be touring (and making money) now. The premise was actually decent, if they hadn’t pissed…
It was never believable to me that there would even be a discussion on who to cast as Marilyn (looks, star presence, singing ability, acting chops etc) when it was Hilty next to McPhee.
YES! I am making a Kinja account just so that I can agree with you and share in the Smash-we-were-all-rooting-for-you recriminations.
Katherine McPhee is a pretty singer with a voice designed for syrupy power ballads who is not distinctive enough to really make anything happen on her own.
I was wondering when the cast was gonna call out all the white savior nonsense from The Help.
Norm expressing support and sympathy for his friends is understandable, forgivable even. But pretending that these two have had an even harder time of it than their victims? Asshole move, right there.
Not *that* bad, I don’t hang out with public masturbators or psychotic racists.
I also just *love* how he keeps referring to it as losing everything ‘in a day’ as though these were single instance accidental ‘oopsies’ and not the culmination of YEARS of crappy behavior that they were never held accountable for.
The headline of this story just makes me want to set things on fire.
And the fucking gaslighting - “look what you made me do.”
“Sweetheart.”
I’m happy that you reached that place. It would be my default, too - today. I’m 38. As with many, #MeToo brought back a lot of “WTF?!” memories. For example, when I was sixteen, my high school class went to see a play. During intermission, one of the girls told the (female) teacher that the man next to her (in his…
