This is actually a great idea. Machines don't break street dates(unless you break said machines). Machines don't ask for minimum wage. Machines don't try to sell used copies instead of new ones. Machines can always swing midnight releases. Seems like a win-win situation.

I think we would need to know what the production costs of the slim PS3 will be before we could guess how the whole lifespan will pan out. If they can pull off a redesign than brings the products costs down significantly enough, they should be able to make back that 2 bill and then some by 2016 on the hardware alone.

I really hope that there is a sequel in the works though.

I didn't think Japanese gamers were that into sports games especially football (or soccer as us yanks say).

It is a tantalizing idea; A game/simulator where one could actually tinker with natural selection in intricate ecosystems over the course of generations.

@AtlREMF311: Me too.I got home from work at 6:30 am and played until about half an hour ago. Figure I should give the poor PS3 a little rest.

LittleBigPlanet and maybe some Dead Space.

WTF. I figured Nintendo would have fixed this by now via an update. Users have been complaining about lack of space and they haven't even made a simple fix that would increase the optional storage capacity. That is ridicules.

Does anyone know if the phat battery and cover pack fits the 3000? That battery life just doesn't work for me.
