The best passwords are the ones in your head, based on a simple algorithm, for example names of ex girlfriends, with a twist such as doubling numbers and replacing the first character with a leet-speek substitution... A33 is 4lison66, S17 is $haron34 etc. Anyone discovering a bit of paper with A33, S17 etc. on it,

Since I got an iPad, the only thing I use the smartphone for is navigation (because my iPad is WiFi only). For everything else, I'm near a WiFi connection, so why bother with the smartphone's tiny screen when I can use a bigger screen.

Ignoring for a moment the argument about smoke points and cooking (personally I use olive oil for all cooking), there's another bit of advice missing from the article...

Lame. How about some real London travel advice (from someone who used to live there and travels to there nowadays)...

AMEN to that. Got rid of FB page this summer, and have really not missed it at all. All the cool kids are quitting FB too. G+ will be the next hot thing to quit, next spring or thereabouts.

Provided what you adhere it to is clean, it is very very sticky and will adhere well to glass/rubber/metal/plastic/wood etc. The finished texture contains lots of small bubbles, kind of foamy, so it is very light. It is also very flexible, so is ideal for climbing shoes. In scenarios where it would be abraded (e.g.

Or, you know, you could just get Caliber software (with the... ahem... slightly illicit DRM-stripping plug-ins which officially don't exist).

Apple trolls are the worst. I call them iTrolls.

You had me, right up until the "biking in the cold is fun" part.

A properly lubricated chain will not need cleaning much at all. The biggest problem with chain oil is that most people think more=better, and just slather it on. Key step is to WIPE OFF EXCESS CHAIN OIL after you've oiled it. That will stop dust and other particles sticking to the chain and getting it dirty to

There are guidelines, and then there's the law. The law everywhere (correct me if there's a state where it is different) says youcannot undertake (i.e. overtake in the nominally slower lane, on the right.

Didn't see it covered yet...

I've had good experience with Goggles4u. On designer frames most of the online places are much cheaper, but the real savings come on the lenses. If you wear strong lenses this often requires high refractive index glass with all kinds of coatings and extras. Buying these online will save hundreds of $s.

The problem with this sort of advice is it might work for those people who are already eating healthy, and are looking to shed a few pounds to fit into a dress, but for the type of morbid obesity prevalent in the US, it is completely useless.

Minor point, but worth noting...

One thing I didn't see mentioned in the discussion... WEATHER!

Incorrect - that's how the garages do it. They dont' haul in 3 different grades. They just bring in 93 and 89, and then mix their own 91 on the spot. Of course, this leaves room for some garage owners to be "imaginative" in the mixing ratios, which is why I never buy mid-grade, only low (or high when necessary).

Meh... I still have the 3G (almost 3 years old now), grandfathered in with an unlimited data plan. $200 for the base model 4S looks pretty attractive, but a new 2 year contract, possibly with data caps not so. I think I'll hang on for gen 5, or see what HTC/Samsung come out with for the holiday season.
