We bought a ST warranty for the Sony HDTV we bought on Amazon. Haven't needed it yet, but hey, it was easy to set up and for the peace-of-mind it was worth the price. I've been stiffed on a couple of Best Buy warranties before (a vacuum cleaner and a DVD player, both about a week outside of 1 year warranty - luckily
