i don’t have any inside knowledge since I don’t know any of the principles, but I started playing D&D in the mid-late 70's (missed the woodgrain boxset by a year or two so only have the white box set), and voraciously bought and read all things D&D for several years, and in those years Gygax was a common name and was c

Shouldn’t be a problem to find alternatives to China, I mean there are plenty of other countries that have just as large a population of low-paid workers to produce American branded goods and cheap consumables, right? I mean it’s not like China is the most populous country on the planet or anything, or has the second

Radical libertarians who think somehow they will be able to keep all their wealth/property/privilege in a Mad Max world with few to no laws and fewer regulations appear to be completely missing a pre-frontal cortex.

Counterpoint: Since people make (or at least interpret) god(s) in their own image, it’s surprisingly easy for otherwise rational people to use religion to justify the most abhorrent actions humans have ever committed.

“Yes, Marysville is open to anyone who is white, Anglo-Saxon, Christian with blonde hair and blue eyes and a GPA of 3.5 from an accredited university.

doubtful she meets that criteria.

long time and current Apple user, but man, lately - even more than usual - they are coming across as the Trump of high-tech companies.

“Despite being cleared of wrongdoing, the event famously spurned spurred Jolie to end their 13-year relationship.”

“Death Stalker And The Warriors From Hell, a film so bad it was lampooned in a seventh-season episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.”

to be fair (or overly generous), since it took them 7 seasons to get to the film, one could argue that it’s not the worst of the worst.

if it were me i’d probably opt for both an anchor and a tether but a giant waterbed floating on a still lake/pond sounds pretty idyllic to me.

(i was thinking initially you could tether a kayak to the tent so you have a means of transportation, but transitioning from tent-to-kayak or vice versa seems pretty

I agree, it seems unlikely she didn’t scuff up her clothes in any crash/fall/slide of more than a few miles an hour, but I also don’t remember any pictures that really showed what the entirety of her outfit looked like post-’crash’. So NOT saying you aren’t right, just that I don’t have enough info to definitively say

I completely understand the suspicion, and I think it’s entirely warranted given her occupation - I just think some of the comments were really quick to judge without considering the possibilities. There was for example a number of people who were convinced the whole thing was staged and they seemed to base that

because showing the tent tethered isn’t as sexy as imagining a drifting waterbed tent?

as for beaching itself I think that depends in large part on the body of water you are in and I would hope people would take normal precautions and not use 50' of rope when tethered next to a 10' wide sandy spot. Yes, the tent is an

while the photos obviously look posed, i don’t think her actual story is all that unbelievable. If she went under when she felt she was losing control around a corner (of a narrow 2 lane road not a highway) she could have fallen onto the shoulder (both her’s and the road’s) while the bike’s momentum would have carried

Glad you are ok, but are you assuming she was going 70MPH as well? Or that the damage she would suffer is identical at different speeds? I ask because one story of damage you experienced in a spill at 70MPH is not extrapolatable to someone else driving a different speed, different bike, different road conditions, etc.

guessing the show producers were thinking “Maybe we shouldn’t have made the trophy out of play-dough”.

of course, ideally, but on a practical level living your moral values clearly and proudly often takes more time/energy/money so unless you have a full time nanny, when you have a kid you generally have a lot less free time and energy and money to expend on acting in the best moral way.

this article has a single humorous take on the tent(in the headline), but it keeps trying to beat that joke into the ground and exaggerating the uselessness of this tent. Yes, it’s silly to think about using this tent to drift down a river while you are sleeping, but is that the way it’s SUPPOSED to be used? I

i can’t imagine anyone involved would seriously recommend drifting overnight, so if you are moored to shore with a tether then you just pull yourself back to shore.

their previous tubing experience must have been limited to indoor circular waterways. (they actually do exist)

If they had enough valid evidence to charge him with the crimes then they wouldn’t need to doctor the photo. The only reason they would need to edit the photo would be to get someone to identify him as the perp so they can use that as a basis for charging him with the crime.
