That is not how copyright law is intended to function. It’s supposed to protect an artist’s work from being used by anyone other than the artist, for any reason, so that the artist can profit from all uses of it and therefore is incentivized to continue making great things.
He’s saying you could only get the special ending if you beat it in under 5 hours. The article says it was strange they’d have the code there since it ‘spoils the ending’ so to speak.
Let me rephrase:
Developers don’t agree to exclusivity deals to make themselves “More” money, they agree to them to make “any money at all.”
Exclusivity deals are not made to make the developer more money, they are made to make sure the developer gets by.
I think they want to collect demographic data, but wanted to keep the form as lightweight as possible. Collecting age would require them to conform to COPPA laws and similar laws, while collected region data can be done automatically. I think they feel safe collecting gender data without putting any more effort into…
It is shocking that I went through all of that while mis-reading Kotaku’s post. Thank you for sticking with me, haha.
DOUBLE FOOLS!
The pre-recorded Nintendo Direct from Nintendo leadership, in which they tend to announce retail plans, release dates, show new trailers, etc. is on “the latest on upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games.”
After the Direct, there is a “live Nintendo Treehouse presentation featuring one of our spring releases.” These are…
Why does Zelda’s hat have an L on it?
I’m not sure Kotaku has it right, NOA Twitter says it’s about multiple games:
One of the two sentences in the article addresses your concern ;)
I don't know what all the limits on "Offline Mode" are, but I know that in general there is an upper limit to how many PCs you can authorize for using your own Steam Account on. It's a generous number (something like 5 or 10 I think) and you can easily deactivate one to activate another. So I'm assuming that you…
Donklin is right, you cannot be using your Steam library while someone else is using it. If you're playing my copy of Portal via Family Sharing, and I go to play some other game like Civ V, I will have the opportunity to boot you out of Portal, or wait until you're done to play.
Keep up your good work and keep striving to make it better, Patricia. I'm glad I have the many perspectives you cover to read about.
Yeah, obviously Twitter has extreme limitations, but as you've indicated there are types of messages that CAN be communicated in short like that (especially links to longer messages). AND the reason it's 140 characters or less is that it was built to work with SMS text messages - Twitter's growth (especially in its…
Thanks Jordan,
I've worked in the industry and I'm familiar with what a concept's artist's job is, but my point is that concept artists do an amazing job incorporating some amazing ideas into their images, but then development teams don't use them. The tone isn't just some abstract thing - it's created by specific…
In the report, though, the source is "a person familiar with the matter", which means there was no official announcement and it may be a person with outdated or partial information.
"Bisexuality" suggest there are two sexes you are attracted to. People who identify as pansexual generally feel that this is limiting or unfair to those who don't strictly adhere to a traditional male or female sex (often referred to as cis-male or cis-female). It's linked to the idea that your gender exists on a…
