I am with you. I want an M2 so hard. Everyone seems to think the last “real” M car was whatever was on sale during their “wanting” days, as opposed to their “able to actually buy” days.
This is exactly the same as it is now. The current F22 2-series coupe is on the same platform as the F30 3-series sedan. So there is going to be a new one based on the G20 3-series sedan platform.
In about 15 years, or two-ish product cycles, folks of a certain age will claim that the outgoing M2, which was decried by folks of a different age as a bloated successor to the last “real” M car, the 1 series M, will claim that THIS was the last “real" M car and the cycle will repeat anew.
So is this the article before the I’m out of here article? Seems awfully cranky even for Jalopnik as of late.
I had a whole spiel written up, but I’m not changing any minds here. These broad sweeping shit takes are just exhausting at this point.
The whole point of this article was to say how hard it is to do just what you just asked for.
Yeah Tom’s is the only one that isn’t a head-scratcher.
You know that all the same paperwork gets filed whether you are buying from the manufacturer or a dealer right. You sign all the same documents when you pick up a Tesla as when you buy a Chevy.
lol wut. Used is good but your 2003 X5 which no one would confuse for a new one is only worth $387,000 if you covered it in $388,000 of gold because it would take an extra grand for someone to drag away a modded maintenance pig like a 2000s BMW
Holy cringefest, Batman!
FU@& Doug DeMuro. That is all. cool minivan though.
Wow. The guy with all the rusty jeeps has no idea what he’s doing and broke a motor. I’m shocked. The same guy who spent 8 hours screwing in a bolt can’t drain the water out of an engine. Who would have guessed? Your ability to live with utter junk and suffer long uncomfortable rides seems to have done nothing for…
He does a lot of things that defy those credentials though.
The problem is that its incentivized him to keep doing dumber and dumber things. He’s getting past the point where its relatable. There was a time when I read his stuff and was like, “ah, that’s a classic mistake even a pro can make.” Now its just too forced.
MW abuses its perceived authority to call a lot of linguistic garbage words that it shouldn’t.
If only there were regulations changes coming next year to lower costs.
Straight line speed was Merc’s big downfall last year. (Not that you can really say that a team who dominated the championship had much of a “downfall.”)

Well and the viewership for sportscar racing like 80 people.
