I have witnessed this also. and there’s an answer for why we don’t do the same here. Cup holders, air conditioning, automatic transmissions, consoles bigger than a Hong Kong apartment, and seating for 6. We don’t have work trucks in this country; we have active lifestyle and occupational accessories.

The rest of the world has figured out pickup beds. It’s ugly as sin, but it is so practical.

But the bigger numbers are just because this smaller FI engine makes as much power as the bigger NA engine. Ughh, I do not like that. I guess at the VERY least Cadillac is trying to do something a bit different and use a real metric vs real/theoretical engine displacement.

Exactly, that’s why BMW keeps making the numbers go up despite the fact that the engines are getting smaller.

That’s the broad theme with model numbers. Almost nobody gives a shit about the relationship between the number and the technical specs. “For just $100 more per month, you can step up from the 350 to the 450...”

I don't mind the Newton meters, but rounding up pisses me off. That's some BMW level bullshit.

Does the car come in purple?

To be fair, the person buying these probably doesn’t care what the number means just as long as they can be assured that the bigger number is better.

Erm, how about a Land Rover, maybe a Land Rover Centaur.

What about a motorcycle?

Lots of people in the comments here who are quick to fault the location of the tanks, despite having absolutely NO understanding of the design requirements and constraints for these kinds of vehicles.

In most accidents it would be fine this is the rare occasion where the tank gets hit

im thinking you can get a lot of mileage out of a tank thats nearly the full length of the bus

I managed a truck rental place for a few years (budget, then uhaul) and was surprised at how often someone would tear the roof up. At least every 3 months we would get a truck back with part of its roof missing, or rolled back.

That is where they are placed on mass transit buses, same with the battery packs on hybrid buses.

Other than the wheels, I... I kinda dig it. I wouldn’t drive it, but I dig it.

I looked at new TTs back in the day and the sales folks referred to it as a baseball mitt stitch. IIRC, a couple of them referred to it as a catcher’s mitt stitch.

I was at RVA Cars and Coffee a few years ago, and was shocked to find the rarest car in the lot was a VW New Beetle.

May be biased-one of my cars has red quilted leather and the other has “espresso” brown leather with contrast stitching.”
