That’s likely. Probably easier to live with for a family too.

Nonetheless, the V-Class is a legit luxury van.

They do, but they don’t sell them in the US.

WTF ? What do they build the houses out of in your neck of woods ?

Where I am, depending on the materials, people expect AT LEAST 40 to 50 years out of their roofs. Legit slate roofs may last even longer, and lauzes roofs are known to last centuriers (they better be, seeing how they’re hugely expensive).
Point is,

I’m really interested in learning more about the concept of a “semi-abandoned house”. What’s it like ? A ghost lives in there ? It’s inhabited by the Geo Metro itself ? People come to take the mail but never set foot inside the house ? So many questions...

Yes, but then again “best selling pickup truck worldwide” is virtually the same as “best selling pickup truck in America”.

Outside of tthe US/Canada/Mexico, it’s a very niche kind of vehicle.

If you look at the global auto market, people who buy trucks mostly buy regular trucks, not pickups. Vans, if you will.

What’s up with you people calling CUV’s like the Audi e-Tron or the Infiniti EX35 or any of the other lookalikes “wagons”. Hello, have you seen actual station-wagons lately ?

They do not look alike, aside from being, you know, cars with hatches.

Compare those to euro-spec or japan-spec legit station-wagons and then

I think you’re vastly overestimating the popularity of full-size pick-up trucks in the world.

They sell in Northern America, and pretty much nowhere else.

Worldwide, most people looking for a truck buy ones with better fuel economy, lower prices, and more room.
I would say the best selling truck in the world is likely

The foreground one in the second-to-last picture looks like some kind of a 1980's robotic alligator. That’s funny :)

The first-gen Renault Modus had an option to have a bottom-hinged mini tailgate inside of the top-hinged regular tailgate. It made it possible to drop/retrieve something inside of the trunk even when you’re paralleled park and the car behind is to close to open the hatchback.

There wasn’t two trunks though, but still,

It is a good deal smaller than a Versa. It’s in a different segment, the closest Nissan offering would be the Pixo (which is an inferior product, but also cheaper. Not unlike most of Nissan’s North American lineup).

That’s because the Metris is a commercial van.
The real adversary to the Odyssey would be the V-Class version, which is based on the same platform and bares a passing resemblance to the Metris/Viano, but is MUCH better equipped and outfitted. It’s also much more expensive than both the Metris and the Odyssey.

The Metris/Viano is the commercial spec indeed. What you want is the V-Class, same car but passenger version.

Those can get really expensive too. If you want an automatic transmission, all wheel drive, leather, swivel 2nd row seats, interior table, a wide array of tech options, you easily cross 70 000 €.

That’s not the

How is the rear vision in sedan form ?

Is the manual transmission equipped trim level acceptable or does it lack some widespread conveniences ? What does it force you to forgo ?

How does it compare to a similarly equipped Civic / Corolla / Golf / I30 ?

EVs were 1.5% of new car sales in France last year. And those sale numbers are up 27% from 2017.

So I wouldn’t say they sell well. Outside from Paris and a few large cities, charging points are not very common.
Add to that the fact that most of the population leaves in smaller towns, and may have to do more than a 50

For those who work in large cities (more than 2 millions people) and live in the suburbs, 45 mins to one hour each way is common.

For those who work in Paris or London and live in the suburbs, it can be well in excess of one hour and a half or two hours each way.

That’s not a wide portion of people, I believe the

Was going to comment something, but you really summed it all up nicely.

Not the same generation. The new ones are reportedly more reliable.

You can ask Tom to find it. Otherwise, it’s not a rare car, even with a manual transmission. If you were in the market for something like that, I bet you could find one in little more time than it would take to find an automatic.

Buy the 6MT then !

Well in France at least, they don’t sell well. I see an occasional Tesla in the posh parts of the big cities, the post office uses electric Renault trucklets, and local governement have some Renault ZOE.
I’m not saying EV’s don’t sell AT ALL, but aside from those, I don’t ever see any. SO they definitely do not sell
