True, and those were awesome, but those were developed by third parties. I've noticed that third party developers get some slack. There were some great, mature games on the Wii, but Nintendo withheld most of the first party ones—-for example, the Wii Fatal Frame Games. The Wii was primarily targeted towards families

I think you can have both. Nintendo will never abandon Mario, thats a fact of life. But those are great games. They've been around for so long because they are quality titles that succeed in charming all ages. My GRANDFATHER played Super Mario Sunshine with me back when that was released in 2004. Their games have

I would love for this game to be localized, but Nintendo is probably afraid of damaging their family-friendly image. Keep in mind that this is the same company that censored their own Fire Emblem game (inadvertantly making it MORE suggestive by doing so).

I'm sure you're right, especially when you start looking at more of the localized entries in the genre. Danganronpa is an entry that comes to mind, and Ace Attorney as well. In Japan, however, at least to my knowledge, MOST, but certainly not all visual novels are relatively "pure" when it comes to a lack of

Going a little off topic here, but I'm kinda bummed that Nintendo isn't including a Subspace-Emissary-esque "campaign" in the new versions of Smash Bros. Pretty sure I played that more then the rest of the game! Maybe this time they go all cyborg or whatever. I'd be down for that.

Well, I guess it depends on what you're looking for. The main reason most people "play" visual novels is for the story. Very few visual novels have significant gameplay elements as they are, as you somewhat implied, more like books or manga, hence their titles.

BURN IT WITH FIRE

If only this was legit...I would definitely play the hell out of this if this was real.

I'm okay with this game drought. Maybe this will be a good week for me to finally pay off my mortgage in AC:NL?
