Look, he’s just concerned, ok? He just wants you to know that he’s aware of how terrible the things he votes for are.

Yep. He’s just the distraction. They’re doing exactly what they’ve always wanted to, and now they’ve got an orange herring to take all the attention and blame.

Give it to me straight, doc. Is the gorilla alright?

“Oh, I see the Mayan Apocolypse did actually happen.”

I’d be pretty sure I had crossed over into some hellscape bizarro world.

How dare you compare assholes to Mitch McConnell.

This is perhaps the fundamental issue: Trump is not even close to being the multi-headed syphilitic hydra that is the GOP. Clownfuckery is indeed exhausting and God knows he’s the worst kind of asshole, but the systematised toxicity of these calculating bastards is on another level of villainy.

Also, let’s not get distracted from the fact that Mitch McConnell is a fucking asshole.

Oh Ben Sasse. Continuing to be the worst. Right up there with Paul Ryan when it comes to fools who tell Trump to stop and then fall in line to vote for all this garbage.

What you are failing to grasp is that if that gangbanger kid shot someone who later died, we would hold him culpable for that. We could feel sorry for him, and realize the context of his actions and work to better the social circumstances that led him to that point, but we would still hold him responsible.

You guys are overthinking this.

It’s hard to take this too seriously since your analogy youth joining a gang - kind of ignores the fact that many Trump voters are college-educated professionals with plenty of perspective and experience. Their ignorance is willful, much like their complete lack of empathy.

If you cannot fathom how awful something is

I’d get just as exasperated with any of the other examples you give if their stupidity harmed me and others I loved.

Here’s where my brain explodes. Clearly, the base of the GOP needs to be exposed to the real world of facts, cause and effect, actions and consequences, etc.

I take Tolkien’s view when it comes to people getting their “just desserts,” particularly when those people are not policy makers. People will reap the consequences of their actions, but it is not our place to make them suffer, or to let them suffer from inaction, simply for the satisfaction of an “I told you so.”

The curse of being a progressive is you have to feel empathy and sympathy for people even when they disappoint you and enrage you. Because however unlikeable someone is, they need health care, too.

Nope. Every time one of these pops up—whether it’s the family who gets half of their own deported while the other half voted Trump, or the various coal miners and tech workers and factory people he screwed over for their votes—I will stand by my completely guilt-free position that I absolutely 100-percent think every

Expecting sympathy because you voted for Trump and got fucked over with everyone else is like expecting sympathy because you punched everyone in town and broke your hand doing it.

Fucking this...

I don’t now, nor have I ever lived anywhere near Baltimore, yet I totally want to donate to her campaign. Until we get more prosecutors in the judicial system like her, things will never change.
