Some of y’all have got me twisted. Who do you think convenes a grand jury? Hell, a grand jury is considered the most prosecutor-friendly option because they get to see only what the prosecutor wants them to see.

That’s how many levels of fucked up this case is: They did charge Ebony Jemison. The cops arrested and charged her with manslaughter, but immediately made public statements blaming Jones for everything. When it went in front of a grand jury, they refused to indict. That same jury indicted Jones.

And then turned around and indicted the victim, something the prosecution didn’t ask for. When that happens the DA should just refuse to write up an indictment for the GJ. Instruct them there’s no basis in law (assuming there isn’t) and tell them to go home. And don’t hold another GJ until after that GJ’s time…

The bastards who filed the false charges still got something they wanted: an innocent woman’s fingerprints and photo in the system. Her name and face are now in it and will never be removed.

My spouse’s old company restructured, basically for regulatory reasons. They were given six months to sign a new contract which gave them all their existing pay & benefits but, ultimately, made it easier to fire them. My spouse’s coworker didn’t sign. It took them a month and half after the deadline to terminate him!…

Is having to go back on a probationary period on a job that you are already working common? The company I worked for has been through acquisitions and mergers 3 times now, and at no point was I ever bumped back to “probationary” status. I kept my PTO, benefits changed a little but were still there.. etc..

The problem is that now their insurance will probably lapse, and any planned vacation they may have already had will probably not be honored.

I would bet this type of employee cleanse is going to be the norm for companies. Forcing employees to start from ‘square one’ to eliminate those employees that build salary and benefit packages that can be filled by cheaper seat fillers.
