I got banned when this first happened for “aggressively defending Nintendo”. In reality, I was completely neutral on the whole thing, and just wanted to know what people thought Nintendo were supposed to do.

What are they supposed to do against mostly anonymous assholes on the internet? Taking a stand and saying something against them would probably have just made it worse for her.
