Trust me, even if you are a huge Sony fan, you shouldn't wish bad things on the Xbox One. Competition is good for consumers. It drives down prices and drives up quality on system exclusives.

To control anything away from your house (external IP) you need to have the correct ports open in your router. Everything works this way (and you should be happy for that!).
