This remains the one and only game I never finished because I got legit scared by it. I think I played about 2 hours in the dark alone while house sitting for a friend and noped right the fuck out. And it wasn’t a specific thing it was the overall atmosphere just finally got to me. And it’s not like I was a kid, I was

Oh fuck I forgot all about that part, it so so damn infuriating, the run outside the ship with the limited oxygen, then the fucking shooting gallery part.

Once again, the current crop of Kotaku writers show that they’re not really qualified to comment of economic/business or law-related issues.

It’s a libertarian/small government dog whistle that insists government has “run amok” and isn’t accountable. In this specific case, it’s so transparently a dog whistle because one of the hallmark features of the Federal Reserve is its independence from the executive branch and the political parties. It lets the

Yeah, the idea that the Fed is “manufacturing a recession” is libertarian horseshit. The Fed has been trying to tamp down inflation WITHOUT triggering a recession, which is a delicate balancing act, and they may very well screw it up. But so far it has worked, and we’ve even gotten some very strong economic indicators

If you’re saying that there’s something less than kosher on the part of corporations, then I agree. I keep bringing it back to the Fed’s role because that was such an odd throwaway line and even odder article that Ethan linked to (at least IMO).

Exactly!

The only thing that would be worse than the Fed being run by "unelected officials" is if it was run by elected officials

Agreed, but I actually want to focus on the claim that this recession is being manufactured by the Federal Reserve, because it’s not completely wrong. The Fed is raising interest rates, which will cause a recession, and hopefully lower inflation.

Also laying this on the Federal Reserve excuses all the companies that took huge tax breaks and funneled them into stock buybacks, as well as the crowd that took PPP loans, but howled at the idea of student debt forgiveness.

Advertisers are slashing budgets ahead of a recession manufactured by the Federal Reserve

You’re not in the minority at all. Most GTA players want a new game, not online BS.

I realize I am in the minority, but I can’t stand GTA online. For me, the game is the single player story. Those who feel like I do were let down by Rockstar because they added nothing to the single player experience.

I guess that’s where the money is, but playing GTA Online was one of the worst experiences I have had

You’re “only joking”, the internet’s most impenetrable defense (🙄🙄🙄), so I’m walking into a land mine here, but... There’s a difference between continuing to support a known piece of shit and having supported in the past a person newly discovered to be a piece of shit. Obviously.

I’m not buying Harry Potter, and I didn’t buy High on Life despite it being recommended by quite a few people.  Your move, bigot.

It feels like it was going for Stanley Parable type metacommentary, but with fart and piss and drug jokes and the drawn out “that’s the joke you see get it, that’s funny right, you can laugh if you want I guess you don’t have to if you don’t want to I guess” kind of writing notable from Rick and Morty. Some of it

Yeah having the voice actor available for free, to do so many extra lines lets the game drag out a lot of those illusion of choice scenes which is super cool. I was often able to just alt-tab to my browser and listen the scene play out which was fun.

The game had great comedy but I gotta disagree with the rest of the

He’s taking it seriously, after getting fired for not taking it seriously while he was suspended for not taking it seriously.

Yep. Didn’t play any of those, nor do I plan to. Every year I see these “best of” lists, and wonder if I’m a bad gamer or something because 95% of the time I have no interest in that year’s Big/Important Releases.

Hrmm. Alright. I don’t think I agree with that line of reasoning, but I understand it. Thank you for humouring a snippy internet rando.
