I've been a long time lurker of this site (and Gizmodo, Lifehacker and Kotaku), and I finally signed up, so I could say thank you for this article, for a few reasons.
I have to admit, I opened this article with the intention to scoff and ridicule or mock it, but then read Edward Swing's quote, and found myself thinking 'Actually, that's pretty reasonable. [Insert ADD-style joke here].'
My answer to the article's question is another question: Why do people play games when they can read books?
