I’m always looking at my work and thinking, What did I do, what did I not do, what does the book need? But as always, I tried to take this book in the various directions that felt right for it, rather than trying for balance, because it’s a novel and not a comprehensive social study. Something I did try to do

Why are you so hard on Kathy Griffin.?We all are entitled to our eff-ups, and I believe second chances. I wish her the best. She did not kill the Lindbergh baby.

If you can’t afford diapers or formula, maybe you should think long and hard about having kids.

Parents and daycare staff could learn “elimination communication” and dress toddlers in split pants, like in China. No diapers piling up in landfills, you train kids to go when you hold them over a toilet (or bag or potty) and whistle or click. Works for a country of 1.3 billion. Google “no diapers in China” and read

You can get by for far less than $84. The average price of a box of 100+ diapers at Target (not exactly a hard store to find) is $15. That’s before you factor in their sales, which they run semi-frequently. I doubt I ever topped $40 a month.

JEZ WRITERS. For god’s sake, my 14-year-old can distinguish between Gen X and Boomers. Why is this so difficult for you?

PS the kid has no patience for Millennial faffing around either. I think you guys better watch out. This generation is as big as you and really, really has no patience.

What really makes me crazy are all those drugstore makeup/skincare ads she is in. They have so many lights on her she’s practically glowing while she raves about some 5$ skin cream. Yeah fucking right that’s why she looks so good. Not millions of dollars in plastic surgery and botox. She’s so fake.

They seem eminently plausible to me.

“... it’s easy now that we’re a year beyond the initial outrage”

It’s money and surgery don’t feel bad.

Its just getting SOOO old. Lately I am like what the fucking fuuccccccccccck.

I KNOW you’re not new here, so your confusion confuses me. I mean, this is kind of their jam?

The Kennedy’s aren’t known for their sobriety.

No fucking kidding. How about instead of bashing her for climbing herself out of the pits of hell, we fucking congratulate her for coming out on top.

Plus, she lost actual jobs for a while(I know she’s getting them now, but she lost them at the time), she got put on a no-fly list of sorts that she still has to deal with when she travels, and she’s getting shat on by liberals even now. Of course she’s “fine,” but, as you point out, men who physically abuse women are

I have always been and will probably continue to be a Kathy Griffin fan. I’ve twice seen her do stand-up and that shit is funny.

The Nancy Reagan book looks like another stop on the scrubbing of national memory about how awful the Reagans were for so many people in the country and around the world. So Nancy danced with a lesbian writer at a large public event? I don’t give a shit. She facilitated and enabled one of the worst US presidents

I am no Kathy G apologist... but hear me out:

A close guy friend of mine explained to me that men are usually the last to know that their relationships are ending. Men in relationships tend to tune out their partners because guys figure women complain about everything anyway and most of that unhappiness gets worked out. So by the time the relationship is done,

I don’t know, the stuff Kathy Griffin went through with Interpol, etc. sounds pretty traumatizing. If she wants to continue to talk about it, I’m okay with that.
