You can tell Nintendo exactly that, but then you’d get taken to court and would need to hire a lawyer. What they did should be legal as far as I understand free use, but since these guys aren’t making money off of this game in the first place it would be a heavy burden for them to stand their ground.

This is a fan-based parody, though, and parodies are (supposed to be) protected under fair-use.

They really shouldn’t have had to, as it was clearly a non-profit, fan-based parody.

You’re arguement is pretty good, except for one thing: you’re forgetting about the Vortigaunts. They’re why Gordon Freeman has the reputation he has in Half-Life 2. They were previously enslaved by the Nihilanth (who may have been a rebel against the Combine, but was the one leading the assault against Earth in

I mean, Half-Life 2 itself wasn’t that good, and Max Payne 2 had better physics implementation, as did FEAR, which came out just a year later. Valve might be waiting to make a great game, but really, all they need to do is make their game easy and then constantly tell players how great they are. It worked for Half-Life

Two games already, and they’re both terrible.

That’s fair, but I’d argue it’s also an overarching theme. There’s an archetype of character in his world who’s done bad things and wants to be a better person, but who keeps getting dragged back into what they’ve always done because, well, someone has to do it. And the overall plot line is the story of powerful

There’s always got to be one offended by something isn’t there.

Good post Doc, I love this topic. Totally agree with Scott Lynch’s Camorr and Tel Virrar.

Didn’t think about gender when I wrote this list. Was too busy thinking about what novels would make for great video game worlds.

Dragon Age: Inquisition.

I’ve got a pretty good “kill switch” for video games but even then I still end up playing some for 20ish hours before I find myself saying “is this game even good? Was it ever?”. Most of the time the game itself is fun, but repetitive or becomes stale. Most recently it was Shadow or Mordor and the most recent DBZ

You missed the point of the complaints which is they put effort into something they were going to make $$ off of instead of using that effort to finish the game. The quality of the DLC is irrelevant to those people and in fact can be more insulting since skilled team Members clearly were used on the DLC opposed to

I see what she means but I don’t think it’s accurate in the slightest

True, Overwatch does have more diversity, and that’s great. I honestly mean that! But some games in the last decade have had normal looking women too, and I’m not a huge fan of Anita for this. Plus, most men in video games are built and attractive and the “ideal” as well. I know most men don’t care as much about

How is that censorship? Do they even know what the word means?
being unable to freely express opinions != being unable to monetize while expressing opinions

They only had one alternate timeline and that was WoD. The only thing coming from that is Guldan. Wth are you talking about? What hero character came back to life? Illidan soul is immortal. We are done with draenor. They only brought back illidan. Kaelthas was only brought back for the running joke.

They did, they well and truly did. But let’s not let Hello Games and Sean Murray off the hook here. Completely excluding the fan hype, they really did push a product that simply does not exist.

I 100% agree with you. I love this game and just wanted to point out that if you stop taking it as a sequel to CT and as its own game, it’s brilliant! =)
