So do you guys just take exception to the method? When an athlete signs with a “shoe and apparel” brand, you guys usually say what that brand is, and (I assume at least) don’t have any qualms with showing the logo. Is the current stance taken because the stunt comes closer to deception?

Take the example of “controversial” speakers on campus, for example. I think any university would be supportive of the students protesting such a speaker. That is, trying to drown out (metaphorically, of course) the speakers ideas with your own ideas. It seems that some students, though, protest against the school,

On the macro scale, this surely is Exhibit No. 1,000,000 why schools can and should be paying players.

If Darren Rovell had a billion dollars, he’d be Peter Thiel

Yeah but they do a hammer throw from inside a cage/net. Archery, that’ll kill a man.

You guys are both doing great work here

Clicked it thinking it would be a list of maybe ten things, followed by “getting hit by car.” This was way better though. Epic post.

I was completely with you until you talked about an “all-expenses-paid three-week trip to Brazil” as if that’s something people should be grateful for. Holy shit no. And I also don’t see how you can characterize access to food as a “perk” that these reporters are requesting.

I’ve been watching the convention(s) via streaming app, so no commentary. Did not realize how helpful it could be to have someone explain that all the presidents have been men, or explain the symbolism of the glass-shattering screen effect. I was so lost!

If you slow the video down and watch closely, you can see that he actually misses the dunk. —Highlight Truther

So even under your absurd idea of what swimming events would be... he was STILL the champion, but only one time so overrated?

I think the change to flagrant fouls for jumping on a guy’s back goes against the league’s stated intent. Players jumping onto a dude’s back and hanging on was nothing more than an exaggerated and (more or less) harmless way of demonstrating a foul. Akin to a big bearhug on other fouls away from the ball.

I would argue mustard is even higher than ketchup. Hell, Drew even used mustard in his bachelor-fridge analysis, but still didn’t include it on the list.

Can’t put my finger on exactly why, but I loved this and Giri just moved into my Deadspin top 3

I agree and voted for this. However I would not that you can’t transfer yours points to ANY airline or hotel, only the partners.

You said “they’re all innocent.” So you’re saying people shouldn’t be shot by cops because they’re innocent? In a way, this makes even less sense, as even the guilty ones probably shouldn’t be shot be cops...

Of course you are incorrect. You are referring to the presumption of innocence in a court of law, the constitutional mandate that the burden is on the State to prove a person guilty of a criminal offense. It has nothing to do with ACTUAL, factual innocence. Under your interpretation, officers would have no reason to

I’ve never understood the apparently great friendship between D-Wade and Lebron. If they were such good friends, why didn’t Lebron tell Wade he was going back to Cleveland. Would have stopped Wade from opting out, and saved him a lot of money. It’s not as if Lebron just made up his mind on that at the last minute. If

I think putting into context makes it less embarrassing (not NOT embarrassing, mind you, just less so). It’s not as if he returned to the Rockies and those fans gave him a standing O. While returning from a domestic violence suspension, he was also returning to the team where he came up and became a star. So there was
