This is stupid. They aren’t losing money on small cars, they’re just making less money. They’ll be giving the market to Toyota, Kia, Subaru and Honda. Making $1500 on a car is still making $1500 vs letting the other brands make that money.

If you want a reliable gas engine, Ford isn’t the way to go. We have a fleet of 12 ecoboost vans. 3 have needed new engines, another needed a new turbo and one had a cracked exhaust manifold. Only one has hit 70k and most are under 45k miles.

The ground clearance isn’t even that terrible. I see no reason not to drive it. Its safety options aren’t any worse than any other classic car from the 50s
Lotsa Utah hillbillies run super big tires on lifted trucks than never do so much as drive over a curb into the grass.
Depends on how much you drive. I drive about 25k miles a year for work with ecoboost. Diesel would quickly pay off. Drive 5k a year? No way
My bet is that it lets them get around overall EPA standards if fewer big cars are available for the general public.
I do that, my ecoboost still gets 2mpg worse than claimed. I’m my Toyota Matrix I get 3-5 over and 2 over in my 300zx so I’m easy on fuel.
They aren’t gonna list mpg at 90. They’re gonna list it where any car is most efficient. And for the most part, you can drive around that speed. 85 is the norm in Utah. Passing big trucks doing 60 to save gas, or being passed by bigger trucks doing 90 and not caring is something you expect. If you want better gas…
That’s where practically everyone gets their numbers. With Ford, I still don’t believe it.
I think its a big difference for a diesel. I expect smaller differences through gearing with a diesel than a gas engine.
Changing the rear diff didn’t help as much as you’d think. Great car but the engine sucked gas at ALL to me relative to even the tech when it came out. Just better than a rotary😂
You do know this is a diesel right? And a Ford!!!
Easy to not kill anyone when your car won’t start after 3 months.
They aren’t 10 years behind. They’ve all likely made more electric prototypes than Tesla. They just didn’t think the cars were ready. When they are, Tesla will take an enormous hit to the pocket. I’m a person that roots for the little guy but it’s just gonna happen.

Uh, no. People make fun of Wal-Mart people because of the kinds of people that go there and nowhere else. They aren’t shopping there because they’re smart. They’re shopping there because they’re Wal-Mart people. I get low income people being forced to shop there. Everyone else is perpetuating that crap companies…

My bet is that Wall Mart is giving VW something. A lot of these people will go in and spend a little money
