I dunno, maybe this is my British heritage shining through, but some kind of...line?”

Yeah. LOVED this game as a kid. Never once beat it. Those damn sandworms were usually game over or left you too used up to survive much further. Kinda hope they have a save system or something on this one so I can finally beat the game.

Even as a kid I struggled, I remember keeping the codes when I levelled up, those sandworms were brutal like halfway through. I did finish it in the end but it was super stressful!

Will definitely be getting this, so I can have my ass kicked all over again :)

Wow, I wish you had been my seventh grade English teacher.

I think the appeal of the story is its weirdness and ambiguity - and the masses of buildup paired with unsatisfying anticlimax is kind of part of that. Aside from that, interesting bits include:

In 2020, mobile games revenue in the U.S. reached a record 10.73 billion U.S. dollars, and thanks to a wave of technological advances, digital innovation, and nationwide lockdowns amidst the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the number of U.S. mobile video game users is now higher than ever.

I use Kalas as a screen name too! In fact I have bluetooth capable sunglasses and Kalas was the first device name that popped into my head for it. Enjoy Origins. If you haven’t played it before, I hope you have a blast and enjoy some of the twists on the original gameplay especially in the battle system. I think the

Baten Kaitos (and, by extension, Baten Kaitos Origins). While the first BK game had atrocious voice acting - dreadful delivery and subpar production - it is still one of my very favorite games, from the amazing art style and beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds to Motoi Sakuraba’s genius soundtrack, and the super fun

What, they didn’t even call Doug for this role? Assholes.

Now playing

I actually started it like a decade ago, but only finished it this April. I truly love the wacky world building to a point that when the finale introduced even more elements (like a mention of a Tao magic wielding space pirate emperor?!?) I was like “wait I want to watch THAT show”.

Yo, MegaBlastoise here. Main account got banned here because a certain Kotaku writer (not Zack) is pretty thin-skinned.
