I have a manual Gladiator sport and I love it. I tow my teardrop, haul stuff, go to Costco, drive down fire roads to fly fish. And it’s a convertible. It’s the right size and it is a 300hp 24 valve 6. It is so much better for a car guy than a full size truck. I’m never giving mine up.

I just bought a 718 GTS 4.0 and it seems like a toy compared to the capabilities of the Z06 at this price. I wasn’t expecting it to be under 6 figures.

You know, the old slow BRZ had a faster quarter mile than that 2003 Marauder on Motorweek...

Actually, 85 octane is for filling up your rental car before you drop it off at Hertz

This is an important point. The original i-series cars were innovative and weird. The i3 interior had amazing materials, colors and textures. The i8 was breathtaking. Both were let down by drivetrains, not design. Now BMW finally has the drivetrains and they’ve given up on the original design language because the

This is the right take. I don’t understand why people are complaining that Bottas was constrained by team orders. He’s consistently run slower race laps for years now and scored far fewer poles.

It’s more likely that we’ll see a situation similar to Rosberg, but I’m inclined to think that Lewis will be willing to begin letting go next year to act as a mentor to Russell in a way that he couldn’t with Rosberg. He’s already hinted at retirement and my guess is that Russell’s skills are now superior enough (and

We own the PHEV X3. It’s much better to drive than the base X3 with instant acceleration and a seamless hybrid drivetrain. We buy gas once every three months. It’s the best SUV we’ve owned.

I hate to be the guy that tries to one-up every story, but I just sold my 2018 GT350 that I bought for $47,000 in late 2019 for $55,000 to Vroom.  One of the best impulse buys ever and, according to my wife, dangerous positive feedback for an unwise emotional purchase decision.

This is a great test of whether GenX n0stalgia can motivate me to buy a car.

is an excellent band name

Same - Vroom offered $55k for the 2018 GT350 I bought for $48k on a whim in 2019 (and haven’t driven during the pandemic).

After a week of press suggesting that Mercedes was losing faith in Bottas, failing to yield to Hamilton after multiple warnings strikes me as incredibly stupid.

Financing a new car is fine.

If you have to borrow money to buy a Boxster, my friend you do not have enough money to own a Boxster.

Cheap equity capital has given upstart companies like Tesla the funds needed to overcome the huge barriers to entry in the car market.  And it gives new companies (that haven’t made a car) the ability to invest in technology that is going to make electric cars even more efficient and cheaper.  Neither is a bad thing.

Merc should have admitted the inevitable and swapped Bottas for Russell in the off season.  There is no upside to keeping Bottas around any more.

I was just thinking that Checo is the most likely dark horse, especially if Max and Lewis get in a tussle. Red Bull is clearly competitive with Merc this year and Checo looked sharp in the first race.

I’d lay money that Verstappen wins the championship this year, Lewis acknowledges that he’s no longer the champion and retires, Russell takes over Lewis’ seat next year, and someone else edges out Bottas (who clearly needs to retire).
