Seems pretty much standard operating practice. Didn’t Tesla get something like $3 billion in subsidies from California, Ford $500 million incentives to build electric trucks in Tennessee, GM $1 billion from Michigan.

Yes, welcome to the biggest thing on YouTube 10 years ago. Seriously, there were t-shirts made, there were parodies of the video, it was shared millions of times. If you’re older than 17-years-old this video is absolutely in your consciousness prior to TikTok finding last week.
The DC-10 falls into a gray area in that it’s most infamous crashes (Turkish Airlines 981 and American 191) were ultimately caused by end user error, but at the same time the design was flawed in that it made end user error more likely. American 191 is the best example of this in that the wing engine removal procedure…
The idea of the DC-10 being “unsafe” is unfounded.
From Wikipedia: “Despite its poor safety record in the 1970s, which gave it an unfavorable reputation,[64] the DC-10 has proved to be a reliable aircraft with a low overall accident rate as of 1998.[65] The DC-10's initially poor safety record has continuously…
“The Boom Overture, scheduled to enter passenger service in 2029, has an extremely impressive spec sheet.”
It’s not that they’re unreadable, it’s the implementation and rollout of the equipment necessary to read them.
It’s basically the same reason that the US was so f***ing far behind in implementing the chip in credit and debit cards to move away from magnetic stripes.
Driver: See, I told you, nuthin’ wrong here. Damn CAL-TRANS can shove it.
YOUR NOT THE BOSS OF ME!
Yep. Never stop on train tracks.
You never, ever take an oversize load over a railroad track unless you have adequate space on the other side to get clear. If necessary you ask law enforcement to stop traffic so you can cross or turn onto a road to gain the necessary clearance. The trucking company is in a world of hurt.
I feel like if you are moving something like that you need to coordinate with the railroad if a crossing is unavoidable.
if the truck driver was really just sitting there waiting for a green light doesn’t make him at fault? You have to be sure you can cross your entire vehicle before attempting to cross any kind of intersection right?
To me, the biggest problem I have is that congress is involved. The 737Max should be certified safe based on it being actually safe. Nothing else. To me, Congress has a Two purposes here with the 737 Max.
Safest VW bus!
Not to mention the big heavier vehicles tend to not handle evasive maneuvers as well as a lighter one, thus decreasing the chance of avoiding the accident in the first place....
Get that many people in one place, and the odds that at least one of them has norovirus goes pretty much to 100%
“...it was basically a grift.”
that can be said about every single thing he has ever said, done, or said he would do.
It actually came with a paper shredder. Now we know why.
This is easily one of the ugliest cars I’ve ever seen. A top three turd, definitely.
I would say that ditch diggers would also know better than to park on train tracks too.
