The average for the UK is 281g CO2 per kWh. 2.5 miles is almost exactly 4km, which works out at about 70 g/km of CO2.

I would expect that the best workaround will be to simply use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. So much better than any factory nav.
I would imagine that the default for failure is to a normal dipped beam setting.
Do they blink whenever the brakes are on?
I *love* the adaptive LED headlamps I have in my little Seat Ibiza. They’re nowhere near as clever as some of the systems out there, but they adapt according to speed, and are self levelling. On startup they do a little ‘dance’ to calibrate themselves. In VW Group speak, this is a ‘low’ LED headlight setup. There’s…
Or flour. Used to have fun as a kid with flour and bangers. Pile the flour onto two bangers, light one then the other. First one aerates the flour, the second makes an awesome mushroom colour. It’s all about the surface area.
Or plastic, on the lower spec cars. The base F30 3-series had awful silver plastic trim there (and on the dash). I had a 2016 Skoda with better ‘metal effect’ trim. Literally looked like it had been sprayed with a rattle can.
My parents have had a fair few interesting cars. My dad currently has a BMW Z1 and a ‘79 Land Rover Series III. When I was a kid, my mum had an E30 325i touring, and then when my brother arrived traded up to an E34 525i. My mum also had an early ‘80s MGB.
Why does the Canadian TT have those weird bumpers? I thought they just followed US regs for the 5MPH bumpers etc.
I fucking love ACC on my Ibiza. It’s amazing. I have a 35 mile each way commute (which is crazy long for the UK) on the motorway, and the ACC just makes life so much easier. Mine’s a manual too, and it works really well. It’s an odd feeling when someone pulls out infront of you and the car just automatically brakes.
If it was mass produced, I’d totally agree. But 500/year for 3 years means exclusivity, and I’m quite sure they won’t struggle to sell all 1500 at $155,000.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the car itself, it’s just that $16k is too much for a 2014 Golf.
As long as Yui will let me talk to Google Assistant, I’m happy. Love having Assistant in the car, I can tell it to do all sorts of useful things.
Derby does still have some industry- Rolls-Royce aeroengines, and Bombardier train building, for example. But yes, an elderly Vauxhall Zafira is probably not owned by someone with significant disposable income. I live in Salford (part of greater Manchester, for those who don’t know the UK) and see similar sights…
What I find weird is that car companies often use some great colours in promo stuff, and then people just go and buy a grey one. I specifically ordered my car in this gorgeous red, which is used on a lot of the promo stuff, but I never see other Ibizas in the red. My old housemate liked mine and bought one too after…
I’ve not tried a car with lane-keep, or even lane departure, but I love adaptive cruise. I recently bought a new car and specifically went for the trim with ACC after trying it out. It’s fantastic. Makes my commute so much more relaxed.
Really fancy stuff? I drive a Seat Ibiza. It’s a mass-market supermini, competing with things like the Ford Fiesta. All electric windows in the Ibiza are one-touch. The windows also roll up and down with the remote too, when you hold the button, and will roll up if you hold your finger on the locking thing on the…
Car purchases are mostly a personal and emotional decision.
