So far I have had 2 cars built in Spain (a 2002 VW Polo and a 2019 Seat Ibiza), one in the Czech Republic (2016 Skoda Fabia), one in either France or the UK (1997 Peugeot 306), and one in either Germany or Spain (2007 Ford Focus). 

THIS. In cars with a traditional key start, there is no way to tell if the key is inside the vehicle or not. Allowing the lock button to lock the doors while the door is open means that it’s super easy to lock the key inside the car.

Some VAG products don’t have the integrated camera. My 2019 Seat Ibiza has the camera integrated into the light for the rear number plate, yet still has the badge as the boot handle. Also, some cars like the Golf estate have the boot handle in a conventional place above the number plate, along with the camera.

Why on earth did they not put a normal rear to the centre console if they’re going to give it 5 seats? I don’t get it. Those extended centre consoles work if you only have 2 rear seats, but not if you’re going to fit 3 across the rear bench. And personally, I’d want the option of carrying 3 across, even if it’s not…

I don’t understand why VW don’t just badge the cheaper Seat or Skoda vehicles as VWs for North America. A Skoda Karoq with a few styling tweaks but the same expensive oily bits and structure would surely be cheaper than making a whole new car. As standard the regular Golfs only get the monochrome LCD. The digital system is a big upgrade. I have it on my Seat Ibiza, and had the monochrome screen on my previous Skoda Fabia (both cars have the current gen MQB electrics like the Mk.7 Golf).
