Not to be a huge downer (which means I’m about to be a downer) but I’m glad they don’t mention what the rumor was.

Absolutely fuck those people victim blaming, and saying, “if you don’t want pictures out there,” nonsense.
One of my best friends got a breast reduction a few years back. She is a lot happier now because of it. Since I’m her friend and not an ass hole I was happy for her. She was really uncomfortable all the time, had really bad headaches and she had to order custom bras that were REALLY expensive. I will never understand…
It’s none of your business how another parent chooses to raise their kids. You might find uber sketchy and not let your kids use it and that is your right. You may think you were trying to help those parents out but all you were doing is sticking your nose in some one else’s business and lording your version of…
There’s a really great story about him being awesome at Behind Closed Ovens. Basically he didn’t realize the restaurant he brought his family to was closing in 15 minutes, kept them all an hour or so after close, then sort of realized and asked what time they closed. He was distraught at having kept them all past…
Let me guess, those adult men are also prolife because they don’t understand that nobody has the right to tell someone else what to do with with their body.
I think there was a BCO story about him being an amazing tipper and being pissed as all hell when he found out they stayed open late just for him. He seems like a decent grounded human being.
Whoa! I live in San Francisco, and I totally remember when Kristen Modafferi disappeared. I was at the Crocker Galleria earlier this week (where she worked) and thought of her, randomly. This adds a whole new level of WTF? to the mix... but didn’t Durst kill only people he was acquainted with?
We’ll have to agree to disagree. They’ve poured unfathomable amounts of money into the Tea Party, into climate change denial, into opposing environmental legislation, into opposing the ACA. They’ve intentionally fostered the social climate of suspicion, greed, fear, and hate that leads people to vote for Koch-approved…
The unintended consequence of abolishing the draft (or relying a volunteer army as we do today) is that people become complacent about long-drawn out (or any) wars since most of our children are not involved. Political passion against the war in Vietnam was sparked by the draft.
Bernie supporter here. I’ve noticed a lot of fellow supporters treat the smallest perceived slight as the biggest personal insult they’ve ever heard. Some of em are downright paranoid. Honest policy questions are sometimes met with hostility. That shit needs to change.
I’m thinking we do it like The Warriors. Drop them both of in the Bronx and the first to Coney Island alive wins.
sigh. I hate the term “garbage human” so much and I see it all over this site. Nobody is a garbage human. Even those who hold views you find reprehensible are real people who are both good and bad. This is the kind of reactionary nonsense that makes us so divided as a country.
I hate quite a few public figures, but I DESPISE people like O’Reilly, Beck, and Limbaugh. Not only are they inherently crappy, but they actively recruit suggestible people into their belief systems and legitimize bigotry and intolerance in the way only a mass-media presence can. And, they do it for MONEY.
Yes, but this seems to have been in a work environment. And if it was an issue of consent, wouldn’t it be worded weren’t asked if they wanted to be choked? I mean, if you did want to be choked, warned wouldn’t really be the word, would it?
There’s actually pretty good reasons to do this. Felonies take a long time to prosecute. Suspension means he is taken out of his classes without failing them (which is a totally reasonable protection for people who may be innocent). It also deactivates his ID and stops him from gaining access to campus buildings, also…
We’re probably about to see lots of comments about potential death threats, followed by lots of comments about how that wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
It’s going to be Rubio. Calling it now.
I imagine the answer to the first two is that many Americans just don’t pay much attention to the news in general unless it’s one of those “breaking” stories like a terrorist attack. As for the primary being longer, I think that’s a result of the Citizens United decision; more money to fight over a longer period of…
