I seem to recall the insurance company said they wouldn’t cover it, and of course the actual settlement could be less,but if that county had to pay ououtany millions of dollars it could have some major effects, I’m guessing, on their ability to govern, pay mentions etc.

It makes it incredibly hard to prosecute a date rape. I’ve seen figures quoted on here of 92-98% of accusations of rape being true. It’s hard for me to believe that 8% are even lies, but if its even 1%, then for government to use force, a guilty verdict in court is necessary.

The statistic is true in that women choose to work jobs that pay less because they aren’t as dangerous and allow for family leave. People act like if I and a woman are at the same job, she makes less than me.

That statistic doesn’t mean what people think it means. We should pay school teachers and social workers of both genders more money, but it still wouldn’t change that there are more men in dangerous occupations who get paid more as a result.
