People should be allowed to form a free association. I cannot support any legal actions against such association. I’m just saying that it isn’t the proper association for these individuals.

I can bet that it will involve screwing things up even further, destroying economies, causing famine, etc, and doing very little to actually help the environment.
There are actual a few substantial differences, because one is an association of employees and one is an association of business people. Guilds died because people thought that unions took their place, but they didn’t.
No; an actual guild. http://guildassociation.org
It makes no sense for them to form a union. The drivers are not employees. Unions are associations of employees. The drivers are independent contractors: sole proprietors/business owners. If anything, they should form a guild.
I was waiting for Riddick to show up. Seriously... the only thing that makes this Star Trek is that the Enterprise was destroyed. The first one certain had action, etc but this one seems to just be “action, action action.”
Pandora is going to need better algorithms if it’s going to outperform its competitors. Or it could go to an entirely new level and use biofeedback to really pinpoint your mood and how you feel about the selection of songs. That would be nice. Why click like or dislike when the software will just know what songs…
I am a scientist. So you can stop right there. Regardless your “counter argument” did not counter my argument. I was not addressing what was more likely or less likely. I was pointing out that the inference, which was made by the astrophysicist in question, is not logically valid.
I’m going to ignore your tone and your spam for a moment and explain this to you.
By the way, I am not using my background to say that I am right. I am explaining my position. You can only assume that the “authority” is correct, so long as the person is truly an authority and there is no valid counter argument.
Actually, I am pretty smart. I also probably know more about mathematics and probability, as well as the nature of science, than an astronomer, since that’s my background. In any case, as I said, we can absolutely say that if there is only one such object, then it is incredibly unlikely that we should be able to find…
Sorry, but this is too weak to be called a Turing Test. Really, how difficult is it to produce an algorithm that can do this?
You’re confusing unlikely with impossible. If there isn’t an edge of the Earth, one cannot fall off of it.
I have to agree with wætherman. Just because something is unlikely, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen. Likewise, just because something happens, doesn’t mean that it is likely. True; the odds of finding such an object, if there’s only one, would be ridiculously small, but if it happened, it happened.
Trillions of tax dollars have been spent on roads in this country. This subsidized the cost of driving and decreased the demand for other forms of transportation. Now you want to have the government make yet another decision for us? No thanks. Here’s an idea: stop meddling. Let people decide what’s going to happen…
Actually, a certain amount can be good to have in certain beer. I’m pretty sure that Sam Adam’s Cold Snap has a fairly high concentration.
The Japanese government really needs to just calm the **** down.
No; I just find mice and rats to be better company than most humans.
Well, you would have a fair number of people complain about not being able to get certain flavors. But regarding the “implications” I wonder if the study actually supports them. Yep. There’s diacetyl. Yes; it’s inhaled. But that does not mean that the levels are anywhere near as much as when working in a factory which…
The study doesn’t actually link vaping to the disease. It just says that it contains diacetyl, which causes the disease in high enough concentrations and long enough exposure. The concentrations in flavors seem to vary considerably, and the summary that I found does not give an indication of just how much exposure is…
