Counterpoint. I don’t care what kind of problems the developers are having. Not my problem. Don’t market your game deceptively. I just want to buy a working game that’s design isn’t based on pushing additional purchases for a product I already own.

It really doesn’t help that so much else in Final Fantasy XVI is just visually disappointing in other areas.
I’ve really been enjoying the visual experience of the game. Seeing all of the high fantasy elements massaged into a more low fantasy aesthetic is fun and novel.
It’s really not that bad. I thought the game was strikingly beautiful.
Uh, this feels like a weird article. Renown might be much better, but they’ve also nerfed Vulnerable and Crit damage, reduced cooldown and damage reduction, and even reduced the amount of experience you get from killing monsters at higher levels than you, as well as the experience boost from partying up with people.…
I know it’s extremely uncool to like Ubisoft open worlds, and I understand that they’re formulaic. But man, there aren’t that many devs out there just putting out games with bottomless pits of content (for single player games). And I really like a space where I can just kind of turn my brain off, maybe throw on a…
I mean let’s all be serious, they did such a shit job it would have been cheaper to not do it at all. I’ve yet to see anyone call their strategy anything other than terrible. Even this site agrees it was bad. If you’re going to do your job, maybe don’t suck at it.
It’s good they’re advocating responsible play, but also a little silly that the people who designed a mouse trap are telling the mice “just don’t eat the cheese, bro.” That’s the thing you built, my dudes. You deliberately designed a thing to keep people playing for as long as humanly possible.
I’m sure this is going to sound to you like I’m defending some kind of white supremacist angle because yeah, I read the linked article but for the love of god can we get off this nonsense horse already and stop acting like a game set in a FANTASY world is supposed to have racial representation? Yeah maybe Square…
They had that one article about the game being racist, so now they have to prove the game sucks for some reason...
I frequent a fair number of gaming sites/communities and I must say, it doesn’t really seem like anyone other than Kotaku is making FF16 out to be some big controversial thing.
Blizzard is like...deathly allergic to players finding any form of efficiency in this game. Find most efficient exp dungeon? Nerfed. Most efficient legendary farm? Blasted. Dungeon with high density? Flattened. Targetted drop efficiency? Deleted from the game. Players moving too fast in D3? Add rooms in the middle of d…
I love the game but simply don’t have time to do all the grinding Nintendo expects of me in their already 100+ hour game to get anything good.
I’m not surprised that the author fails to understand why this is actually pretty innovative and different from “lol boats already had sails before” but I’m surprised at the comments on the post doing the same thing. Usually the comments are pretty good at calling out why the author’s take on something is stupid but…
I just can’t understand fans inability to believe 2 character can just be friends. Like EVERY friendship seems like it MUST be a sexual relationship, it’s just strange, and a little creepy.
Talk about nonsense! It’s a videogame it doesn’t need to tick all the political checkmarks under the sun. You want to ship Sidon with Link? Go right ahead, hell Zelda’s ancestor Rauru is a furry! The game’s story is not going to stop you.
Agreed. They didn’t age that well, but honestly the way Nintendo seems to have done the art in this remake brings it right back to my nostalgic memories of Super Mario RPG. I think this one’s a big win.
The Link’s Awakening remake art style was great for that game, but I think there’s a lot more charm in this, recreating the original game’s graphics but shinier. It is immediately recognizable to anyone who played the original and I think it looks great.
I don’t get it...it looks exactly the same as the origi... ... ...oh. Man those old TVs made up for a lot.
It’s literally an HD version of the original game’s art. I love it.
