Either you love NGE or you hate it. There is virtually no middle ground. It is basically a reflection of why we watch stuff.

If you're going to have a Shonen on there, can it be something a little more imaginative than Naruto?
Why don't you supply some then, rather than pass arrogant judgement upon a genre that has hundreds of shows and thousands of devotees?
Rubbish. Such generalizing statements are meaningless.
I did like Cowboy Bebop (first anime I ever saw) but it's not all that. It's the anime that everybody likes, but I don't love it. It's like Pulp Fiction, the spectacle just slightly out paces the substance.
Not that much lesser. Sure, X-Men fell off a bi in the final season but it's ensemble cast was not to be sniffed at.
It really is the best kind of switchblade, just outperforming the lightsaber switchblade:
Ehh, the second season has terrible character handling (like, it is the example my brain goes to first for bad character handling). It introduces way to many new people, in a timeskip no less, the worst way to do it. Not to say there weren't brilliant episodes (the one where Arsenal is introduced - "Satisfaction?" -…
The Omega Beam doesn't work as well on Supes as Darkseid originally thought it would…
What I love about the "I am many things" speech is that it is basically their rivalry summed up neatly.
I actually quite like Peter Weller in that film. Actually, that may be because I love both parts of that film, because it was probably the last animated DC film I've seen that was any good. (Well, Flashpoint Paradox was okay but a little too gritty).
Although the Superman speech is amazing, what has always stuck in my mind was the nerf gun (no idea why) and Chinese J'onn, in possibly the my personal favorite moment starring him. The reaction to his first punch before he transforms (into a dragon, possible nod to his adopted culture?) as well as the reaction of his…
Ok, that makes me like it a lot more. Thanks a lot!
It is the definitive superman moment. Whenever anyone tells me Supes is dull, I think of this and the bullet-catching scene in the first Reeve Superman.
Yes NGE would be fantastic!
Hmm. This is a very strange article.
But it's more forgivable with Ginny since we hardly saw any of her. Hermione was one of the three main characters and we know nothing about her but super-smart, super-sassy/persnickety and muggle blood. Bad teeth is literally the only real character development she got given.
The title of the article is "We're talking about adult fiction all wrong".
I was thinking of sword Art Online as well in terms of "Twilight for guys", but at least SAO has good production values, music and fights, whereas even the prose in Twilight is painful to read.
Same goes for adults and maturity.
