Bravely Default is great. There's a point n the story (you'll know when it is) that is REALLY slow, but when it happens just turn encounters off for a while and power through it cause the ending is worth it.
Woah woah woah there.
Lightning isn't self-centred, she has no centre at all. Being self-centred would be an improvement since it would give her an actual character trait, instead of just being a mannequin to hang JRPG stereotypes on.
It's not even just male characters. The new Tomb Raider reboot has proved that in the new progressive world of video games, a woman may be just as bland, uninteresting and indestructible as a man.
This is by no means anywhere near the worst GJI has put out. It probably ranks highly, actually.
So does everything.
Pssh, some of us might not know that flouride doesn't help teeth hygiene, but I think we're all resigned to its use as government spy satellite tracer by now.
The copy of Atlas Shrugged in the sewage as one of the most commonly-flushed-down toilets books is the only part of Futurama I have ever seen. And it was pretty funny.
I've never read it, but I do know that at one point the Joker is rendered sane (very temporarily) by magic means, and expresses total remorse at everything he's done.
Um, what?
I fail to see how the Joker is a bad example. He is genuinely not in control of himself. Batman always returns him to Arkham Asylum, and the comics always respect the legal status of insane. He's not evil, but the acts he commits are. Batman never tries to kill him, and the stories have aways shown the people who do…
Yes but Batman tv shows generally treat such cases with tact. See some episodes of B:TAS, such as "Two-Face, Parts one and two" and the final episode with the Ventriloquist. The mentally ill characters in those episodes are in more danger from social stigma than anything else.
Prestige Genre TV.
I like Angel more as well, lots of it because it ended really, really well whereas I literally could not bring myself to finish off Buffy S7 it was that awful.
Totally agree. My favourite show of all time is Neon Genesis Evangelion, which plays anime conventions straight and asks "wouldn't people who acted like this be really, really messed up?"
Yep, people having different opinions can be infuriating.
Why can't there be a show that neither demonizes the rich nor idolizes them? Because TV is stupid I guess.
I love the original House of Cards as well.
Never ever doubt the shortsightedness of TV networks, cash machine or no. It offends their tiny little bizzaro souls to meet salary demands.
