Has it really been 15+ years since Garnett, Duncan and Dirk broke onto the scene at roughly the same time? That’s really an unprecedented influx of talent - arguably the three top players of all time at one position, coming into the league in the span of four years.

Fellow Spurs fan echoing your admiration for the Big Fundamental. He’s the best.

As a bulls fan, its clear that hoibal drifted this team apart. No defense and reliance on perimeter shooting is a bad recipe that will never work in the NBA and gave way to a streaky last season. We gave rose away for trash, and continue to sign new trash. Let the tanking commence. :(

I think part of it is that Hoiberg is a terrible head coach. He even was in college but had the talent to conceal it.

Best of luck!

Have fun.

I will honestly be surprised if Fred gets to coach a third. Part of it his fault, part of it not:

1) His fault because he really should have realized he wasn’t ready for the NBA yet, and that the Bulls as currently constructed are not a good fit for his no-D, shoot 3s all day type of style, especially coming from a

No, last few years you’ve had Jerry West.

Fred won’t make it 5.

The window has closed.

Thing is, they’ll win 38 games and get the 14th pick in the draft again. It’s going to be a long five years for Fred.

As a fellow Bulls fan I understand this so much. The way our team just broke up would make you think it was 1999 again, except we didn’t get even a single championship out of the Rose-Noah-Butler-Gasol squad.

All this NBA excitement, as a Bulls fan I can’t wait for the train wreck season followed by the 2017 lottery pick.

I think the Warriors solved the problem of the Thunder getting to the rim against the Spurs.

I’m going to join you in mourning.

Not discounting the existential dread that has surely filled the hearts of all other franchises today, the Spurs will figure something out. They have the best coach ever. Fuck it, he’s the best coach ever, winning 60-plus games and trophies while not averaging 30 minutes or 20 points for any player.

I really wish KG would've had better teams in Minny. Would've made a great rivalry between the two but it never really happened.

As a Spurs fan, this is the biggest story of the day for me. There was always a pretty good chance Tim was hanging it up, especially after the postseason where he looked as finished as Daniel Plainview in the final shot of There Will Be Blood, but it felt like when Manu confirmed his return, it felt like the true one
