People take shitty jobs because they have no better options and have to make some money to survive.

The cost of Uber is already inline with the cost of a taxi. The reason why Uber rides are cheaper is because Uber is throwing billions of dollars of venture capital down the drain to try to squeeze out the competition.

Those costs are subsidized by Venture Capitalists. When taxis disappear, those subsidies will too.

“People who voluntarily take on a shitty Uber gig” are people who don’t have much of a choice. Same as people who take on any other low-paying exploitive job.

That would be a good thing. Right now too many Uber drivings are driving around and double parking and clogging up traffic in places like San Francisco.
