I will be very interested to see how people manage this reaction if/when the Bryan Singer and Dan Schneider stories break. How do managers, tutors, and parents ... people legally and morally obligated to protect children say they had no idea these things were happening? It was literally their jobs to know! How do you

Nah.

TMZ is the worst. I’m firmly on Kathy Griffin’s side on this one.

I don’t remember this much ire when President Obama was hanged in effigy nearly every week. These folks really hate them some Kathy. That is a strange hill to die on considering the terrible male comedians out there.

Kathy Griffin can do no wrong, in my book. She’s funny and observant as hell, and has worked her ass off forever.

Really, you’re still mad about that whole Trump thing?

I’m of the view there’s no appropriate time to release a film like this and maybe we can stop making films that pedal the fantasy that any teenage girl would be interested in gross older guys altogether. The fantasy is entirely ONE-SIDED.

Boy I sure am glad we avoided the corrupt-as-all-hell Hillary Clinton!

I think it does serve a purpose beyond “just because we can.” It’s a tiny but significant refutation of the “this is grimdark Star Trek” complaint: despite the fact that they’re in a bloody war and are being forced to make hard choices about their principles, Tilly and Stamets are still fundamentally driven by the

Yeah, I’m increasingly fine with this “not being Trek”. One thing I’ve noted and loved about the last three episodes is how little time we spend on the bridge of the Discovery. This is not a Trek show about the bridge officers, for the first time in 50 years. That alone feels more brave than any amount of ideas about

All hail, Team-Tilly.

I’m actually pretty ok with the conflicts between the characters. It gives us an interesting dynamic between the characters similar to what we got with DS9 rather than the often criticised “no conflict in the cast” edict of the TNG years.

It was the most classic Star Trek episode yet. Issues of moral philosophy set on a backdrop of expedience and threat.

Wow. That’s disgusting. Thankfully other designers make beautiful wrap dresses so I don’t have to worry about giving up a favorite designer.

Am I nuts or have we definitively known about the Weinstein thing for years? I have no connections to Hollywood at all— not even American—and the only thing I knew about Weinstein was that he was a notorious sleaze famous for harassing actresses, the whole “casting couch” thing. The last few days have been a weird

I know it’s an unpopular opinion around here but despite being a feminist and a straight woman I’m actually not bothered by nudity in movies, “gratuitous” or not. It would be great it there was more shlong though ;)

In the same way that I don’t want even an exceptionally qualified male OBGYN, I don’t really feel, idk if “comfortable” is the right word, but I guess it just seems a little out of place to see male writers on sites for women. As in, geared toward women and the experiences of women, but still need a man to explain

How’s your contraceptive coverage today?

I thought it was because she and Alyssa Milano loathed each other.
