There are entire gringo towns that have displaced Mexican coastal communities that live off of fishing who now have zero to minimal access to the Sea of Cortez because there are multi-million dollar homes/”communities” with gringos who can barely speak…

You could almost apply this whole essay to Mexico as well. I spent the winter (2.5 months) in Baja California (Sur) overland camping. I hadn’t been there for over 20 years. I couldn’t believe how much gringos had taken over the peninsula and Sea of Cotez.
