Thanks. So what’s the design process - what parameters do you design to? Packaging, weight, existing components, .....

Genuinely curious. How many engine designers are there in the us/na/europe? How many new engines are designed each year? Is most of your time spent on extensions of existing blocks, e.g., new heads, valve trains, etc?

Anyone know what the current manufacturing yield is for these processors?

William Gibson. Neuromancer. An AI trying to get off its leash.

Because ignorance is a core value for many voters. They’re proud of it!

Probably not bad at 4-5 years. Maintenance increases at about 8 yrs and then skyrockets at 10.

I’ve seen a video showing them mounted on sides as well as another showing mounts on corners.

somewhat relevant. Having coffee on Sunset Blvd (years ago.) Countach pulls up to parallel park on the street, though big open space, really only having to back in. Sammy Hagar opens the scissor door, swings his ass out to sit on the door deck so he can see behind him, and coaxes the car into place. It was actually

That last video is superb, even with the 80s music. Back when men were men, and 2 strokes ran in GP. Throttle control!

Fixed it:

I’ve got a good, i.e. positive, mechanic’s story from way back.

Thomas Dolby is missing one, too.

I was going the other direction and didn’t have too much of a problem. Burbank to SJC actually wasn’t too bad. And there was positive energy on the 6pm back to the bay area - everyone was going home for the weekend.

Yeah, but. I’m not a huge HSR fan, but having flown back and forth between sfo/sjc to lax/bur for years, reliability of that route sucks. Best case 3 hours with parking/security. But often major delays due to weather, takeoff/landing spots, ... Pushing it to 5 hours plus, which is approaching drive time (which is also

Naw. This wasn’t about Mittens. He’s just the face of the pro-business republican faction which presumes it runs the party. This wing doesn’t have a lot of public representatives around anymore - most have been tea-partied out of office. Mittens is the guy with some gravitas, grey hair, looks good in a suit to present

If the V-22 self deploys, it’s spending a lot of time ferrying. Do they really follow (or lead) the president around or are there multiple sets of these things.

Yes. But the challenge is how to effectively integrate these into our economic and social systems. As mentioned above, humans are valued (i.e., paid) based on their productivity. (And the concept of productivity has become more abstracted, and in many cases distorted, by our economic and political systems.)

Interesting points. Agreed, in the long run humans (and probably western societies) will survive. However, in the short run, 5 - 50 years, there will be serious dislocations and disruptions around the world.

I did that about a month after I got my bike. Outcome was as one (i.e., an intelligent one - or older than 19) should expect.
