Having taught a few calculus classes that have used online access codes I can tell you that, no I do not “get a cut” but yes I am “poorly paid.”

The reason I’ve used the online material is because I have found (in my years of teaching) that it is extremely important for students to stay up to date with the course…

My daughter got nailed by this for her Astronomy class - she was going to buy a used book until she found out the course had a digital code associated with the book so had to buy new.
