C’mon, 1987-1991 is pretty clearly peak Costner (with Perfect World and Tin Cup representing some later-’90s highlights). I feel like it’s pretty ungenerous (or just unrealistic) to say he peaked *before* Bull Durham/Field of Dreams!

Ohhhh, that’s where I remember him from. I’m currently on a West Wing re-watch binge.
“Actually, I’d like a picture with that young man over there.”
On the plus side, at least it doesn’t actually star Ben Platt.
Nothing says “Green Lantern adventure” quite like the logline “two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery.” Still
Maybe so but Dollar Bill was an epic character in Billions.
The only byline I’d like to see on this site more than Will Harris is Sean O’Neal.
Good lord, I remember that shot, specifically seeing it in an Entertainment Weekly piece about the (then-upcoming) Man of Steel.
it’s like playoff sports. the bangwagon jumpers showed up for the main event, but since it was an easy jump on it’s an easy jump off.
“Better Be Home Soon” is fantastic. Also, if the one hit is “Don’t Dream It’s Over,” you could do way worse.
Crowded House had two big hits in the US, so two-hit wonder would be more fitting.
Ah, those Seppoes can just have another piece of...
The Doctor becoming a giant mope because his 20 year old girlfriend left was one of the worst developments in that era. Making 11 baffled and offput by Amy's advances (and human sexuality in general) was a much needed corrective
You gotta do the safe picture. Then you can do the art picture. But then sometimes you gotta do the payback picture because your friend says you owe him.
Keep hearing vaguely good things on the Internet about how good this show is, still don’t know anyone personally who’s seen it.
That was the last time I ever felt “kept up” with TV. After that, the explosion in serialized shows was just too much. I think I finished Lost and then started Game of Thrones... and that was the last series I remember fully watching. Since GoT it’s been liberating to step off the endless-content train.
I still fall into the camp that hates how LOST ended but it is funny that for a moment we thought this would be the better show. For the record the best puzzle box scifi show at that time was Battlestar Galactica, and even that did not nail the landing
There’s only musical-sequel-to-a-dark-movie I recognise:
I recently started watching this remake show. It is essentially a remake of the 1999 show of the same name. If you’re curious all 7 seasons of that show are also available on Netflix. The main protagonist is a young Aussie South Asian girl (hence your comparison to Never Have I Ever).
So, it’s artificial, shallow, written by people to can only masquerade as humans and it’s set in Sydney?
