The fucking “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH-” *proffers Glock* “-HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” gets me so good.
What bugs me about all the debate about Lee, Kirby and Ditko is that it ignores the fact that these characters may have been created by them but dozens of other artists and writers have contributed to forming these characters. Some way more then these three.
THIS!
You really want people to see this piping-hot shit take, huh?
I just watched the series for the first time earlier this year and I agree with basically all of this. The pacing was really the biggest issue with the last two seasons, as well as the last two episodes. People were absolutely right about that. Both seasons should’ve been a full 10 episodes to give the plotlines time…
The story resolution was only a disappointment if you weren’t paying attention to the narrative that was laid out in front of it and instead expected the show to pay off your own personal expectations/headcanon narrative. A lot like Lost.
*buffoonery.
McDonalds? Not the restaurant with all the goofy shit on the walls, and the mozzarella sticks?
I fucking love The Diplomat, and it’s the exact sort of show Katie Rife should be covering here, if she were still around and this site still did such a thing.
Lol, loved the characters in that film.
I know two different people that lived through their own version of this story - one was my best friend, straight cis male, who fell for and eventually found himself in a brief dalliance with a cis woman who identified as a lesbian. That didn’t work out, and she went on to fight for and have the first legal same-sex…
It’s been a looooong time since I’ve see it, but to me that scene added the most depth to the film. They behaved like recognizably flawed human beings who felt hurt because she was possibly giving ammo to the “lesbians are just confused” crowd, instead of the typical gay best friend trope of the time who was always…
Not only that, he loses the woman he purports to love precisely because he’s a dumbass who can’t get past his own hangups and preconceptions and love her for who she is, instead of who he sees her as.
Yeah, I feel like a lot of people who dislike the film do so because they see Affleck as the hero, when the film is unambiguous about the fact he’s a dumbass.
Detective Dolly : So what’s the symbology there?
Listen, 1995 was a very bad time for comic books.
I’m trying to find out what’s more odd. The two stars of David on her costume or the fact that she appears to have skinned and is now wearing Sonic the Hedgehog
