I feel bad for Michael Keaton. Of the three new DC projects he filmed on, just one ended up getting released.
Darmok and Jalad, at Tanagra.
It really is. It’s a movie I hope gets rediscovered down the line because it’s fantastic.
That opening scene in London with the song East Hastings playing over it is amazing. I still remember being blown away watching it the first time.
This is exactly the joke I needed to hear today. Thank you!
Will definitely give this one a go. I don’t love all of his moves (I couldn’t fucking stand Logan Lucky, though that’s in part those awful, awful accents) but he’s such an interesting filmmaker that he’s always worth checking out.
“As far back as I can remember I always wanted to be the boy who lived....”
I saw them on their 2015 tour and they were pretty good. I was glad to see them while Glenn Frey was still alive too.
Fuck this looks good.
Oh god that function sounds like ducking torture. We were never taught more than the first verse when I was at school 30 years ago.
The only person I’ve ever met who claims to know the whole thing and at least knows one line of the second verse is a hardcore tory and card-carrying LNP member. Make of that what you will.
National anthems by and large a terrible.
Just got back from seeing it and I really enjoyed it. A very enjoyable afternoon at the cinema.
Oh yeah, that’s a great take on Luthor. Clancy Brown was so good in the role of Luthor. One of my favourite takes on the character. Good call.
They brought that back in the comics in 2003 in Superman Birthright, DC’s attempt initially to do Ultimate Superman before deciding it was going to be his new in-canon origin story, something they swiftly abandoned again very quickly.
I liked what Byrne did with Luthor in a lot of ways but one of the great things was completely removing the Smallville part of his backstory so that he didn’t meet Superman until he was an adult and already established.
I’m excited to see what they do with Luthor. I didn’t mind the tech bro take on him. It wasn’t the best but at least it wasn’t yet another go of the dodgy real estate scam shit.
One of the things I liked about Man of Steel was that Amy Adams’ Lois figured out who he was and tracked him down relatively easily.
It always surprises me that people were shocked at John Carter’s failure to land.
