While this is set in Bali, they actually filmed it in Australia on the Gold Coast, taking over the studio space that Elvis vacated, as well as north Queensland too.

This reminds me, I went down a weird wormhole on Youtube a few months ago while depressed from covering our elections and ended up watching a shockingly large number of episode of the now ultra obscure 1980s sitcom It’s a Living.

I think I’m a handful of years too old for this stuff because I don’t think I ever saw any of these. We didn’t have the Disney Channel too, so late 90s me was spending most of their time watching Star Trek DS9 or the Highlander TV series.

The slow-motion implosion of the US empire since the end of the Clinton administration hasn’t exactly seen itself covered in glory or holding anything approaching a high moral ground either.

And boy do those fucks love to talk up how fucking special they are with their so-called greatest democracy on Earth.
